On Sunday, October 18th 2015, we invited people to join our walking tour. There were surprisingly 90 people registered. Even though only 60 people showed up (we divided them into 4 groups), it didn’t make the walking tour less fun.
Almost everyone knew the area, it’s Menteng, one of the most famous areas in Jakarta because some of the most important people in Indonesia live here or used to live here. But not many of them have visited the museums, like the declaration of independence museum and the museum of the great general.
Anyway, here are the pictures and see yourself how much fun we had during the walk:
The guide of group 1, Farid, was explaining when Obama went to school in Menteng.
No, he is not posing to imitate the Great General statue behind him. This is in front of the Great General Nasution Museum.
Group 2 in front of the house of Nasution.
Group 3 in front of Kunstkring, the art gallery and restaurant in Menteng.
Group 3 in Suropati Park when they were about to start walking.
My fave picture. Group 3 in Diponegoro Park.
Gruop 3 inside the Museum of Nasution.
Group 4 in front of Kunstkring that once served as an immigration office.
Group 4 in front of Cut Meutia Mosque.
Group 4 in front of Obama’s school.
The walk was 5-kilometer and 2-hour long but do you see any long faces? No, because it was FUN.
We didn’t put any dress code but the participants, somehow, managed to wear blueish outfits!
